Since the advent of digital photography, my interest and drive to photograph nature has increased enormously. Prior to digital I had sporadically gone picture taking with film, but due to the high cost, time, and spotty results, it sometimes took an Act of God to get me out into the field, doing what I really love doing; stopping a moment of time to record a noteworthy image of nature.
I really got busy after moving to south-eastern Oklahoma, one of the most beautiful areas in the U.S. The surprises never stopped when afield; birds that belonged in a Costa Rican rain forest (see Painted Bunting) abounded. Lush, dark streams and rivers were everywhere, misty mornings over farm fields, burnished sunrises and sunsets, dazzling lightning storms and magical moonlit nights were there for the asking.
